Cavamh is an umbrella organisation working with voluntary sector groups with an interest in mental health, mental health service users and carers in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. 

What we do:


Providing and sharing information through our:

  • Website - our website includes news, events, and information as well as our directories.
  • Directories

     Mental Health Services Directory – a directory of services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan
     Directions – a guide to older people’s mental health services and caring

  • Newsletters - Involvement News; Network News and Sefyll News



Supporting and facilitating networking through:

  • the Mental Health Forum and interest groups
  • the Carers Involvement Group
  • the Cardiff & Vale Older People’s Mental Health Forum
  • the Sefyll Reps Support Network
  • Veterans Mental Health Support Group

Having a Voice:

Influencing the planning, and delivery of mental health services by:

  • Connecting Voluntary sector, service user and carers with service providers, planners, and commissioners
  • Co-ordinating and facilitating consultation meetings and events


  • Providing support and funding advice for voluntary sector organisations, service user and carer groups
  • Identifying needs and gaps in services
  • Supporting the development of mental health initiatives

Mental Health Promotion

  • Co-ordination of voluntary sector involvement in World Mental Health Day
  • Mental health awareness training
  • Communicating positive messages through a range of media
