On Friday 15th November 2024, the Wales Mental Health and Wellbeing Forum will be holding their first annual conference which will be titled ‘Improving Healthcare with Lived Experience’. Please set aside the time to come along- all welcome!
The event is an opportunity to bring together people with lived experience of mental health issues, professionals, carers, friends and family for a day of conversation, collaboration and co-production.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Improving Healthcare with Lived Experience’. Across a series of talks and workshops, we’ll work together to discuss and innovate practical solutions to the issues facing mental health services today.
Our keynote speaker is TV star and mental health advocate Andrew Jenkins. Andrew gained national fame on hit TV show The Traitors, where he shared his journey from a harrowing near-death experience. After nearly dying in a car crash aged 21, Andrew has overcome huge physical and mental challenges to become one of Wales’s leading mental health and wellbeing speakers.
We will also welcome speakers from Welsh Government, numerous health boards and Social Care Wales, along with workshops hosted by the Wales Mental Health and Wellbeing Forum members.
This conference is free to attend and open to anyone with experience of mental health services, including professionals, service users, family, and friends. To find out more about the Forum, head over to www.mentalhealthforum.cymru.
