There is widespread recognition that service users and carers are experts, with an in-depth knowledge of mental health services and of living with mental ill-health. No one else, no matter how well trained or qualified, can possibly have had the same experience of the onset of mental ill health, the same initial contact with local services or the same journey as you.
Your voice is an important resource that can help to improve individual packages of care as well as mental health services generally. In addition sharing your expertise and experiences can help with your own recovery, lead to new ideas, improved ways of working, and services to become more relevant to local needs.
Not everyone is able to attend meetings, or has the capacity to join in during standard working hours, however YOUR VOICE MATTERS! Here we will share requests for your feedback, surveys and consultations from organisations and services which are seeking your expert knowledge that you can complete in your own time. Check back regularily for more opportunities as they arise.
August 2025 Cardiff and Vale UHB – Consultation - Shaping Services for the Future, Together
Cardiff and Vale UHB
For the next 20 weeks Cardiff and Vale University Health Board are engaging on their ten-year clinical services plan – ‘Shaping Services for the Future, Together’
What is the “Shaping Services for the Future, Together” plan? This plan will act as a roadmap for how the health board will deliver all services for the next ten years. The plan will be co-produced with local communities and be built on the values of inclusivity, honestly and consistency.
The plan will be designed to make sure people get the right care, in the right place, at the right time using the following five focus points:
- Women and people registered as female at birth
- Mental health
- Planned care
- Urgent care
- Specialist & regional services
Why do we need the plan?
We know that the way people are using health services are changing. We have an ageing population, and people are dealing with much more complex health conditions. This means we need to make sure that our services can meet everyone’s needs and that we are making the best use of staff, buildings and technology.
How can you get involved?
It’s really important that we hear everyone’s voices from all parts of our community so we create a plan that meets everyone’s needs. Here is the link to their dedicated website which includes a survey on the plan: Shaping Services for the Future, Together – Shaping our Future Wellbeing

Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff strategy survey
Cardiff Council
We want to work towards becoming a more inclusive and Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff.
1 in 7 people in the UK are neurodivergent. This means they can experience the world differently and have differences in:
- social understanding,
- sensory processing,
- communication, and
- information processing.
Neurodivergence is an umbrella term and includes, but not limited to:
- Autism,
- ADHD, and
- Tourette’s Syndrome.
Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff is a city-wide initiative that aims to create a more inclusive city. Find out more about Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff.
We have developed a draft strategy that shows how Cardiff Council, public service partners and other organisations will work towards the goal of increasing understanding and becoming a Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff.
We want to hear your views on our draft strategy. We also welcome feedback on any areas that have not been considered that would help shape our future ambitions.

Preparing for Discharge from CMHT's Survey
Recovery and Wellbeing College
We would be grateful if you would take a few minutes to follow the link below or scan the QR code and complete our survey ‘Preparing for Discharge from CMHT’s’
This survey is for anyone who has experience of using community mental health services, caring for someone who does, or working within those teams. We’re looking to understand what can make the move on from a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) challenging, and what kind of support could help during this time.
We know this transition can be uncertain and sometimes overwhelming. Cardiff and Vale Recovery and Wellbeing College and the Mental Health Clinical Board are working together to co-produce and co-facilitate a course (or courses) that supports people through this stage and helps them explore “What’s next” in a way that feels right for them.

TikTok and Eating Disorders: Your Experience
Beat
Beat are running a survey to better understand how people interact with eating disorder related content on TikTok and what their experiences have been. All responses are anonymous and will help us to support those affected by eating disorders and inform efforts to reduce online harm.
We’d love to hear from anyone in the UK who:
- Has experienced, is currently experiencing, or suspects they may have an eating disorder and has used TikTok (currently or in the past).
(No formal diagnosis or treatment history is required to take part.)
- Has supported someone with an eating disorder, or been concerned about someone, and has either used TikTok themselves or observed others using it.

Understanding your views of using digital self-help for people with disordered eating or eating disorders
National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)
If you have an eating disorder, now or in the past, or are a parent, carer or guardian of someone who has an eating disorder we would like to ask you to respond to this survey.
People with eating disorders use disordered eating behaviour as a way to cope with difficult situations or feelings. This behaviour can include limiting the amount of food eaten, eating very large quantities of food at once, getting rid of food eaten through unhealthy means (e.g. making themselves sick, misusing laxatives, fasting, or excessive exercise), or a combiniation of these behaviours).
NICE is inviting people with experience of disordered eating or eating disorders to respond to this survey. We want to hear your views on digital self-help as a way to treat eating disorders. A digital therapy may be a health technology that involves the use of a mobile app, website or artificial intelligence.
The survey responses will be collected and then presented to our independent committee who decides on whether digital self-help technologies can be proposed as one possible way of treating disordered eating or an eating disorder.
This short survey asks about people’s experience of using digital self-help technologies, or views of this type of technology if they haven’t used them yet, as part of treating their eating disorder. You do not need to have used any digital therapies in the past to answer this survey, we would like views from both people who have and haven’t used digital therapies.
This survey is designed to be completed by people aged 18 and over. We also welcome parents or carers of children younger than 18, to complete this survey on their behalf.
