Aims & Objectives

Prep provides accommodation to men and women who are homeless or inappropriately housed and who have additional support needs, such as mental health, drug,and alcohol problems. Prep is committed to providing a holistic and individual service, working towards empowerment and independence by way of mutually agreed support plans. All tenants are encouraged to become self sufficient, including volunteering/educational/work training, budgeting, menu planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, socialising and accessing community activities. Tenants receive support from staff with benefit entitlements, and their various support needs
etc.

 

 

Services

All of the projects are temporary, (Assured Shorthold) Referrals are made to all Housing Providers for consideration for suitable accommodation. Support and assistance moving on (to obtain household items, connect amenities, etc.).Resettlement support can be provided for a short time once individuals have moved into accommodation, to ensure maintenance of tenancy and the well being of the Tenant.

Staff and clients work in conjunction with other professionals, including CMHT, Social Work Teams, , CPN's, Drug and Alcohol Support Providers, Further Education/Training Agencies, Housing Providers.

Prep 184 - is a shared 4-bed house in Grangetown, Cardiff for people with medium to high support needs. The aim of Prep 184 is to provide a homely, relaxed atmosphere in which tenants can develop towards independent living. Tenants at Prep 184 often move on to more independent Prep projects to promote independence gradually. Tenants share a bathroom, lounge, kitchen, dining area, utility room, garden and garage.
Staff are available here 7 days a week, with a 24-hour emergency on call for after hours.

Prep 197 has 2 self contained and 1 bedsit flats, 40 has 3 self contained
flats, 88 has one self contained.And four shared communal area flats. 53 has three one bed-sit and 3 self contained flats.
All our properties are furnished.
Tenants also have access to the emergency out of hour’s on-call.

 

 

Referrals

 

Referrals are accepted from individuals aged over 18 who have no dependent children living
with them. They are also accepted from agencies and other organisations.
