Cardiff & the Vale
Services:
The C&V EDS is an outpatient service for people with eating disorders in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB). The Service comprises of 2 elements:
- Eating Disorders Specialist Outpatient Treatment Team (EDSOTT): Provides consultation to the Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), joint working and time limited specialist psychological and dietetic treatments as part of the wider CMHT package of care.
- Service for High risk Eating Disorders (SHED): A multi-disciplinary team working with people who have severe and high-risk eating disorders across Cwm Taf and Cardiff and Vale UHBs.
Referrals:
Referrals are accepted from Cardiff and Vale CMHTs and the Primary Mental Health Support Service (PMHSS). GPs therefore initially refer people with an eating disorder to their local CMHT or PMHSS who will screen and assess their needs and then refer on to the eating disorder service if appropriate.
